DOC Announces Preliminary Determination in Countervailing Duty (CVD) Investigation of Steel Threaded Rod Imports from India
Denver, CO (December 19, 2013) –
1) INDIA: Countervailing Duty (CVD) Investigation
On December 11, 2013 the Department of Commerce made a preliminary determination to impose Countervailing Duties on Indian producers and exporters of threaded rod as follows (duties will be imposed commencing on December 19, 2013).
1) Babu Exports — 39.98%
2) Mangal Steel Enterprises Limited — 8.13%
3) All other Indian producers and exporters — 8.13%
2) THAILAND: Antidumping (AD) Investigation
The Department of Commerce is expected to make its preliminary determination as to Antidumping Duties in respect to Thailand late today, December 20, 2013. The results of their determination should be released to the public on Monday, December 23, 2013.
Opinion: It is our expectation that the Department of Commerce will impose substantive Antidumping Duties on producers and exporters of threaded rod from Thailand.
3) INDIA : Antidumping (AD) Investigation
The Department of Commerce is expected to make its preliminary determination as to Antidumping Duties in respect to Thailand late today, December 20, 2013. The results of their determination should be released to the public on Monday, December 23, 2013.
Opinion: It is our expectation that duties WILL be imposed, and that when they are, they will be somewhat significantly greater than the Countervailing Duties detailed in paragraph #1 above.
