AATP implements automated improvements to their manufacturing process
We are determined to be the best we can be. This is not just talk. This is not just a statement of intent. It is a plan of action backed by a more than million-dollar investment in improvements. Tricia Gardovsky, Regional Account Manager for USA – South, explains further.
One of the discussions we had as a management team at AATP was, what if something like Covid-19 impacted the manufacturing industry again?
It is not enough to just be relieved that is in the past, we must make sure that if there is a next time, no matter the type of crisis we face, we will be far better equipped to manage it.
For us, the focus was on having greater control over what can influence our ability to perform as a business.
We have invested in new machines and equipment that have enabled us to automate some of our manufacturing processes that previously relied on manual labor, which was one of the elements that affected our performance the most.
Our new robotic chamfer cell, pictured here, allows us to automatically chamfer and stamp threaded rod and studs. This significantly improves our efficiency and allows us to re-train and re-direct team members who previously had to chamfer and stamp manually.
After investments like this, our efficiency has climbed and has had a positive impact on our ability to keep stock of the chamfered threaded rod standards you need.
AATP has experienced positive and immense growth over the past two years.
Learning from the huge challenges we faced and changing the way we do what we do, so we can better serve our customers has been the most important to date.
